The International Outbreak Museum was founded by Dr. William Keene, who passed away in December, 2013.
The museum is housed in the Portland State Office Building in Portland, Oregon. The museum is part of The Northwest Center for Foodborne Outbreak Management, Epidemiology, and Surveillance (FOMES). It is made possible by the Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention Section, which is part of the Center for Public Health Practice.
Most of the exhibits in the museum are carefully-constructed replicas of items in notable outbreaks from Dr. Keene’s work.
